Morelia Gourmet Paletas began when long-time friends, passionate about ice cream, embarked on a mission to create the BEST ICE CREAM EXPERIENCE. Inspired by the delectable Mexican Paletas they tasted while living in Brazil, they set out on a journey to find the perfect paleta, but soon realized they had to create it themselves. Since opening the first Miami location in 2016, the brand has expanded to 16 locations total: 9 in Florida, 3 locations in North Carolina, 2 in Texas, 1 in New Jersey, & 1 in Virginia. 

The name 'Morelia' pays homage to the capital city of the State of Michoacán in Mexico, where the first paletas were believed to have originated from people adding fresh fruit to ice to refresh from the high temperatures. Morelia Gourmet Paletas' logo embodies the spirit of the Mexican Catrina, symbolizing 'Day of the Dead' celebrations but celebrating life in all its forms. Representing equality, union, and culture, the Catrina serves as a reminder that we are all equal, regardless of gender, sex, or culture.
