NEW YORK (PRWEB) April 18, 2023 - Trepp, a leading provider of data, insights, and technology solutions to structured finance, commercial real estate, and banking markets, announced the finalists for its first Innovation Challenge. Trepps Education Segment is partnering with NYU Sterns C.H. Chen Institute for Global Real Estate Finance in hosting the challenge.

The Inaugural Challenge had two dozen submissions and after two competitive rounds, we have our three finalists who will be competing for grant funding up to $15,000.

The finalists of the challenge will be meeting in Trepps headquarters in New York City on Wednesday, April 19th to present their final presentations to a panel of judges and Trepps Education Steering Committee. The finalists include:

1. Jaylin Jones, University of Mississippi 2. Sophie Muller, St. John's University School of Law 3. Supasit Vitooraporn, New York University

Participants were required to focus their innovative solutions, using data or technology, to solve challenges facing the commercial real estate industry in a broad range of categories. The finalists created solutions focusing on 3D commercial printing, using technology to bring transparency to challenges around heirs property, and CRE-Backed Tokens.

The judges will evaluate finalists based on the quality and persuasiveness of the spoken presentation, level of professionalism, quality of responses during the questions and answers portion, plausibility of the financial case, and projected addressable market size.

The finalists chosen represent an array of practical, yet innovative idea submissions. Trepps Education Committee and our panel of industry judges are looking forward to seeing the final presentations, said Erin Timko, Trepps Director of Academic and Industry Relations. The Innovation Challenge has been an incredible initiative to provide students with the resources to make an idea into reality and promote positive change in the industry.

Judges include Dr. Stephen Buschbom, Research Director at Trepp, Dr. Sam Chandan, Director, C.H. Chen Institute for Global Real Estate Finance and Professor of Finance at NYU Stern School of Business, Richard Jones, Partner at Dechert, Annelise Osborne, Head of Institutional at Arca Labs, and Lea Overby, Head of CMBS Research at Barclays. Trepp looks forward to selecting a winner(s) to enable these ideas to come to fruition.
