PENSACOLA, Fla. (PRWEB) July 03, 2021 - As the nation moves into windstorm and fire season, mediator Robert Heath has tips for home and business owners to assist with post-disaster insurance claims.

A Fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, Heath has mediated thousands of claims, many arising from hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, hail storms, and fires. He says there are things property owners can do before and after the disaster to help with claims.

Ive seen many policyholders who are not aware of what their insurance policy covers until after a disaster, he said. By then, in many cases, its too late. They should review the policy in advance while there is time to make changes, if necessary.

Heath suggests homeowners document and photograph contents before disaster strikes because many items will be washed or burned away.

Heath is the principal of Robert Heath Mediation based in Pensacola, Florida which provides mediation and arbitration services throughout Florida and the United States. He has been appointed by the Florida Insurance Commissioner to mediate hurricane disaster claims and was an Appeals Panelist for the Deepwater Horizon Economic Loss Settlement, the largest mass settlement in United States history.
