TAMPA, Fla. (PRWEB) September 20, 2021 - Intense wind and rain from Hurricane Ida pummeled homes and businesses from Louisiana to New York. The storm left millions without power, blocking roads and shuttering public transit. Ultimately, Ida caused 116 fatalities and more than $50 billion in damages. As always in the wake of a severe storm, MaintenX disaster response teams reacted quickly to help facilities get back on their feet.
Before the storm hit, MaintenX dispatched response teams to states along Idas path including Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and New Jersey, where they boarded up and sandbagged businesses before the storm arrived.
Preparedness is a crucial component of disaster response; thats why we service our clients before, during, and after severe weather events, said MaintenX National Service Director Mary Ann Velez. Our experience allows us to harden facilities, help them weather the storm, then recover quickly afterwards.
After Ida passed through, MaintenX teams deployed generators for facilities without power and kept them supplied with fuel until utility service was restored. Following that, they inspected affected facilities to identify any residual damage and give clients peace of mind that no surprise maintenance needs would emerge.
Post-disaster inspections are often overlooked by facility managers, said National Service Director Mary Ann Velez. Hurricanes frequently cause water damage, which can work invisibly over time to degrade the health of your facility and its occupants.
MaintenX teams are currently in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle to respond to Hurricane Nicholas, which is affecting some areas hit hard by Ida.
Tampa-based MaintenX has extensive experience with extreme weather and a history of excellence in providing weatherization and disaster recovery services to commercial facilities of all sizes across the country. To learn more about their services, visit https://maintenx.com/.
