HARTFORD, Conn. (PRWEB) January 11, 2022 - Gilbane Building Company is proud to announce that the 350,000-SF, $205M Connecticut State Office Building restoration and renovation project recently received project excellence awards by both the Connecticut Building Congress and the AGC of Connecticut.
Each year, the Connecticut Building Congress recognizes outstanding building projects that exemplify project team excellence and represent the best practices in teamwork by project owners, architects, engineers, constructors, and trades. Similarly, the AGC of Connecticut Build CT Awards offers bi-annual recognition to construction firms that have completed projects of excellence. Both organizations recognized the efforts of Gilbane Building Company, along with the design team Amenta Emma and various trade partners, in delivering the complete gut and renovation of the historic building with a focus on collaboration and client advocacy.
Located in Hartfords historic district, the 350,000-SF, $205M Connecticut State Office Building restoration and renovation project transformed the 1931-era facility into a state-of-the-art workplace for nearly 900 state employees. Along with a complete gut and renovation, the scope included the construction of an adjacent 1,000-car parking garage. Agility and cohesiveness were key drivers of the Gilbane/Amenta Emma/Skanska project teams success, as they overcame unforeseen environmental challenges by pivoting their approach and re-evaluating sequences, all while developing early-release packages to begin construction in tandem with design development. This coordinated and innovative team effort ensured schedule and budget adherence and client satisfaction.
