TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (PRWEB) November 10, 2021 - City and county organizations and entities from across the state were recently recognized for outstanding redevelopment and community-enhancing projects during the 2021 Florida Redevelopment Association (FRA) Annual Conference and Awards Reception.
Each year, FRA a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting Florida professionals and volunteers with community redevelopment efforts recognizes the outstanding achievements of various organizations and programs from around the state with its awards program. The FRA Awards recognize excellence in a variety of categories, from rehabilitation renovation and transportation transit enhancement to cultural enhancement and housing.
This years winners include the Mark and Marianne Barnebey Planning and Development Lab, City of Pensacola CRA, City of Jacksonville, Southside CRA, City of Groveland, Lakeland CRA, Palmetto CRA, East Tampa CRA, City of Tampa, Pompano Beach CRA, West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, City of Boca Raton CRA, Boynton Beach CRA, Lake Worth Beach CRA, Fort Myers CRA, Tampa Downtown Partnership, Stantec, City of Orlando DDB/CRA.
Redevelopment works for Florida and we are proud to honor the incredible projects and accomplishments made in our industry over the past year, said FRA Executive Director Amber Hughes. Without these organizations and dedicated professionals, we would see little progress or enhancements to our local communities.
CRAs and development organizations exist to promote the improvement of cities and other urban areas through redevelopment. These organizations are managed by five-to seven-member boards created by and distinct from the local governments. CRAs focus on plans and projects that benefit economic development, promote growth and boost community engagement.
All FRA Awards entries are examined and judged based on effectiveness and completeness including the narrative, creativity, supplemental material and compliance with the submittal instructions.
