EAST SETAUKET, N.Y. (PRWEB) April 26, 2023 - The opening of the Ansys Hall at Carnegie Mellon University - College of Engineering in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania showcased a state-of-the-art facility that combines both classroom and factory, designed to inspire innovation and interaction with cutting-edge simulation and fabrication tools. To ensure the facility's durability, Penetron Specialty Products was tasked with providing a flooring solution that included a flooring underlayment (LEVELINE 15) and a sealer (PENESEAL FH).

To meet the project's demanding requirements, Mosites Construction, a PSP-certified approved applicator, prepared approximately 5,000 ft2 of floorspace with a bonding agent, PRIMER STX 100, and then applied the self-leveling underlayment LEVELINE 15 to provide a level and flat surface. PENESEAL FH, a clear, reactive penetrating sealer, was then applied to protect the LEVELINE 15 layer from other trades that were still working during the final construction phase, ensuring that the final flooring was installed over the newly-poured LEVELINE 15 only after the completion of the construction phase.

With its calcium aluminate-based formula, LEVELINE 15 is a self-leveling underlayment that boasts a long working time, low shrinkage, and superior leveling properties, making it ideal for demanding interior applications. This quality flooring solution kept the project timeline intact and on budget while ensuring that the facility's flooring remains durable for years to come.

Ansys simulation software gives engineers and students the ability to explore and predict how products will work or wont work in real-world applications. Penetron is proud to have contributed to the construction of this innovative teaching facility, says Bob Baumeister, PSP Product Specialist.
