LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) November 12, 2021 - SoCalCIO announced the winners of its 2021 CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards. SoCalCIO recognized chief information officers in seven key categories Leadership, Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Large Corporate, Corporate, & Nonprofit/Public Sector. The SoCalCIO ORBIE Awards were presented virtually.

The SoCalCIO ORBIE winners demonstrate the significance of strong technology leadership in these uncertain times. Over the past year, CIOs are leading in unprecedented ways and enabling the largest work-from-home experiment in history, according to Leza Dabit, Executive Director of SoCalCIO. The ORBIE Awards are meaningful because they are judged by peers - CIOs who understand how difficult this job is and why great leadership matters.

The 2021 SoCalCIO ORBIE Award winners are:

Mary Gendron, SVP & CIO, Qualcomm received the Leadership CIO of the Year ORBIE.

Michael Zahigian, SVP & CIO, Amgen received the Global ORBIE for organizations up to $1.5 billion annual revenue & multi-national operations.

Todd Inlander, SVP & CIO, Southern California Edison received the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $4 billion annual revenue.

Ted Ross, CIO & General Manager, City of Los Angeles received the Enterprise ORBIE, for organizations over $2 billion annual revenue.

Randi Levin, CIO & Director of IT, NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory - Caltech received the Large Corporate ORBIE for organizations over $1.5 billion annual revenue.

Dr. Joseph Cevetello, CIO, City of Santa Monica received the Corporate ORBIE for organizations up to $700 million annual revenue.

Albert Oriol, VP & CIO, Rady Childrens Hospital San Diego received the Nonprofit/Public Sector ORBIE for nonprofit organizations up to $1 billion annual revenue.

The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since inception in 1998, over 1,800 CIOs have been honored as finalists and over 400 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award.
