Winners of 2021 BostonCIO ORBIE Awards Announced

BOSTON (PRWEB) June 18, 2021 - BostonCIO announced the winners of its 2021 CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards. BostonCIO recognized chief information officers in eight key categories Leadership, Super Global, Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Corporate, Public Sector and Healthcare. The BostonCIO ORBIE Awards were presented virtually.

The BostonCIO ORBIE winners demonstrate the significance of strong technology leadership in these uncertain times. Over the past year, CIOs are leading in unprecedented ways and enabling the largest work-from-home experiment in history, according to Brenda Shield, Executive Director of BostonCIO. The ORBIE Awards are meaningful because they are judged by peers - CIOs who understand how difficult this job is and why great leadership matters.

Elizabeth Hackenson, CIO, Schneider Electric received the Leadership CIO of the Year ORBIE.

Sheila Anderson, EVP & CIO, Corporate Functions, Liberty Mutual, received the Super Global ORBIE for organizations over $10 billion annual revenue & multi-national operations.

Marjorie Boles, Group CIO, Sappi Limited received the Global ORBIE for organizations over $3 billion annual revenue & multi-national operations.

Tara Long, Head of MMUS Technology, Mass Mutual received the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $2 billion annual revenue.

Eric Lindgren, SVP & CIO, Bright Horizons received the Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $1 billion annual revenue.

Bridget Collins, SVP & CIO, Cerence received the Corporate ORBIE, for organizations up to $600 million annual revenue.

Bijay Kumar, CDO & CIO, State of Rhode Island received the Public Sector ORBIE for state & local government, education, and other nonprofit organizations.

Gregory Wolf, CIO, UMass Medical School received the Healthcare ORBIE for hospitals, biomedical & healthcare organizations.

The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since inception in 1998, over 1,500 CIOs have been honored as finalists and over 350 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award.
