Skills/Comptences Canada to Host A Virtual Career Exploration Event Through vFairs

This event will offer students from middle school and high school, teachers and career seekers an opportunity to learn about career and education pathways for skilled trade and technology jobs. It will feature over 25 industry and education partners from across Canada.

OTTAWA, Ontario (PRWEB) October 27, 2021 - Skills Canada will host the upcoming launch of National Skilled Trade and Technology Week: A Virtual Career Exploration on vFairs virtual event platform. The event will take place on November 2, 2021 between 11am - 3pm EDT.

This event will offer students from middle school and high school, teachers and career seekers an opportunity to learn about career and education pathways for skilled trade and technology jobs. It will feature over 25 industry and education partners from across Canada, whom attendees can network with and discuss their career goals through live virtual chat rooms. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the 9 Skills for Success through virtual resources, and watch sessions by industry and education experts on the virtual stage.

Previous event feedback has solicited extremely positive feedback. In fact, 86% of past attendees agree that by attending this event, they learned something about new career options in skilled trades and technologies.

In addition to the educational opportunities, attendees will be able to compete in a virtual leaderboard competition and earn points to win prizes. The two top two attendees with the most points at the end of the day will win a DJI Mini 2 Drone.

This virtual career exploration event is a great way to encourage students to discover the variety of careers that exist in the skilled trades and technologies. It also enables our future skilled workforce to learn more about the many educational pathways that they can follow including apprenticeship, said Shaun Thorson, Chief Executive Officer, Skills/Comptences Canada.
