Trident University International Faculty Dr. Indira Guzman Receives 2022 Teaching Excellence Award

CHANDLER, Ariz. (PRWEB) August 25, 2022 - Dr. Indira Guzman is the recipient of Trident University Internationals (Trident) Teaching Excellence Award for 2022. She was presented with the award during the Universitys Commencement Ceremony on July 22 in Long Beach, California.

Nominees for this award were selected from student surveys administered by the Department of Faculty Development and Support. The other finalists include Dr. Allison Deegan, Dr. James Hodges, and Dr. Sabrina Segal. Dr. Guzman was selected by the University Faculty Development Council by a rubric which considered feedback submitted by Trident students.

I want to thank the entire Trident family for this award, remarks Dr. Guzman. I am grateful for all of the exceptional students I have taught. They are dedicated and do so much many of them working full-time and serving our society in different roles, tending to their families, and studying hard. It is not blood that makes us family, its our respect for education, appreciation for knowledge, and continuous learning.

Dr. Guzman is currently a part-time faculty member at Trident who served as Doctoral Studies Director of the Glenn R. Jones College of Business from 2016-2022. As Director, she oversaw both the Ph.D. in Business Administration and Doctor of Business Administration programs.

Dr. Guzman joined Trident in 2006 and assumed the role of Doctoral Studies Director in 2016. She previously served as Program Director for the Ph.D. in Business Administration program, and prior to that was Director of the Computer Science and Information Technology Programs.

During her time at Trident Dr. Guzman made curriculum changes following standard learning outcomes of organizations like AACSB, Association of Information Systems (AIS), Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals (ICCP), and ABET, the accrediting body for computer science programs. She was instrumental in making Trident an academic advocate of ISACA, Cyberwatch West, and NCWIT.

Dr. Guzman holds a Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology and Master of Science in Information Management, both from Syracuse University, and a certificate in Performance Assessment in Higher Education from Harvard University.
