Four town residents currently serve on the commission

WALKERSVILLE, Md. (PRWEB) March 08, 2022 - On January 24th, 2022, Walkersville Burgess Chad Weddle swore in 4 town residents to serve on the newly formed Economic Development Commission (EDC). The formation of the EDC was enacted by law in late 2021 and seeks to serve businesses in the town of Walkersville by: recommending policy and legislation to support and promote economic growth; collaborating with local, county, and state economic development offices; and pursuing activities to support existing businesses while promoting development of incoming businesses.

The Commission is comprised of 4 members: Chair Linda Morgan, Vice Chair Bob McNally, Secretary LeAnne Tennant, Ryan Csajko, and Commissioner liaison Michael Bailey. The EDC will first tackle the towns outdated business directory and providing recommendations to the Burgess and Commissioners for COVID relief grants for town non-profits and businesses.
