Rotary Club of Southern Frederick Donates $2000 to Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program

URBANA, Md. (PRWEB) February 27, 2023 - The Rotary Club of Southern Frederick is proud to announce the donation of four $500 scholarships to the Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program. The donation was made during the club's weekly meeting on February 16, 2023, at the Natelli Family YMCA. This marks the second year of a three-year obligation between the two organizations.

The Rotary Club of Southern Frederick is dedicated to supporting education, literacy, and alcohol and drug use prevention among youth in the community. The scholarship donation is an example of this mission, aimed at empowering young women to pursue higher education and achieve their goals.

'We are proud to support the Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program, and we believe in the importance of investing in the education and future of our youth,' said Kelly McQuillen, President of the Rotary Club of Southern Frederick. 'We hope that this scholarship donation will help these young women reach their full potential and inspire them to continue to pursue their dreams.'

Sonia Amir-Bowie, Co-Chair of the Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program, accepted the check on behalf of the organization. The Rotary Club of Southern Frederick is excited to invite the young women who receive the scholarships to speak at their club meeting in March and share their experiences and goals.
