SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) April 02, 2021 - National public accounting and consulting firm Novogradac has awarded five interns the initial Richard B. Hutchins Founders Scholarships, recognizing their work and progress.

Hutchins retired at the end of 2020 after more than 30 years with Novogradac and the scholarships recognize and encourage promising interns to further their careers in public accounting and/or real estate valuation.

Im honored that my former partners chose to create this scholarship, but even more thrilled that these interns show such aptitude and desire to learn, said Hutchins.

Yaxin Li, Mary Ng-Alberto, Diemlinh Pham, Jordan Rose and Esmerelda Daniela Vitan will each receive a 2021 $1,000 scholarship.

These recipients are very deserving, said Michael J. Novogradac, CPA and managing partner of Novogradac. Their professionalism and commitment are worthy of notice and we hope they will continue to pursue their careers with the same passion theyve shown thus far.

The recipients are each a current tax/audit or valuation intern at Novogradac. The scholarships are based on work ethic, professionalism, teamwork, coachability, work quality and commitment. Novogradac is committed to increasing the number of Black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) professionals in community development finance and each year will award a portion of the scholarships to BIPOC professionals.

Each of the awardees cited their life experience or experience as volunteers in shaping their professional interests.

Li works out of Novogradacs Walnut Creek, California, office in both audit and tax engagements and hopes to pursue a career in public accounting. Ng-Alberto works out of the San Francisco office and hopes to work in the real estate side of public accounting. Pham works in the Long Beach, California, office and hopes to work with nonprofit and affordable housing clients. Rose, who works in the Cleveland office, will work in accounting and Vitan, who works in the Austin, Texas, office, is interested in public accounting or real estate valuation.
