Greenberg Traurigs Seth Entin Speaks About International Tax Issues Impacting Businesses

MIAMI (PRWEB) January 27, 2022 - Miami Tax Shareholder Seth J. Entin of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., spoke at two recent professional events about significant changes and developments in the international tax arena that are impacting businesses in the U.S. and globally.

Entin delivered a presentation entitled International Tax Aspects of De-SPACing Transactions at a conference hosted jointly by The Florida Bar and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) Jan. 13 in Miami. He discussed the tax issues and planning considerations that arise when a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) combines with a target company. Entin addressed various tax scenarios that can arise when U.S. and foreign SPACs merge with local or foreign target companies.

Entin also chaired and presented at a workshop to discuss new global tax rules for multinational companies as part of the International Bar Associations 11th Annual Finance and Capital Markets Tax Conference, held virtually Jan. 17. Speakers focused on an agreement reached last year by the U.S. and other countries that are part of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to establish a global minimum tax rate of 15 percent. The workshop was entitled OECD/G20 Global Pillar 2 and the Global 15 Percent Corporate Minimum Tax Panacea or Fiscal Chaos?

With more than 23 years of experience, Entin focuses his practice on the international taxation of high-net-worth individuals and families, international corporate taxation, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) international tax audits, and IRS voluntary disclosures. In 2016, he was recognized as Miami Lawyer of the Year in Tax Law by The Best Lawyers in America guide. He also has been recognized by Chambers USA Americas Leading Business Lawyers guide since 2007, where is currently listed in Band 1. He is an adjunct professor of international taxation at the University of Miami School of Law and a member of the American College of Tax Counsel.
