Firstmark Credit Union Awards $20,000 in Scholarships

SAN ANTONIO (PRWEB) August 24, 2021 - Since 1932, Firstmark Credit Union has been a champion of educators and is proud to continue their long tradition by offering scholarships to local, graduating high school seniors for their outstanding achievements.

President and CEO Nathanael Tarwasokono is proud to announce the 2022 Frank Price Cunningham & Helen Shipman Cunningham Scholarship recipients.

Our recipients showed great resilience to complete their senior year of high school during a year marked by unprecedented challenges, Tarwasokono said. We are happy to celebrate their accomplishments by offering each graduate a $1,000 scholarship to pursue their goals for higher education.

Ms. Clare Coleman, board member and scholarship committee chair, added, This years recipients are entering various fields of study, such as teaching, politics, architecture, engineering and nursing. We are proud to help these high school seniors pay for higher education and to invest in their future careers.

Each year, Firstmark Credit Union awards $1,000 scholarships to 20 high school seniors to aid with college costs. The Frank Price Cunningham & Helen Shipman Cunningham scholarship fund was established to honor the long-standing commitment of Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham, who together served the credit union for more than 75 years as president and vice president, respectively. Since 1993, Firstmark has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to outstanding high school seniors in our community.
