CYFS launches CodeDAO Web3 Hackathon to Build Web3 Decentralized Applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (PRWEB) September 21, 2022 - Web3 the next iteration of the internet is coming, and it starts with developers. To accelerate the transition to Web3, the CYFS community is launching its first hackathon to share its vision of Web3, help developers learn how to code fully decentralized Web3 applications, and find the next Mark Zuckerberg.

During the Hackathon, teams of developers will review the power of decentralization, learn how to develop fully decentralized apps (dApps) using CYFS, the next-generation decentralized internet protocol, develop their own dApps, and compete to win prizes worth over $26,000 combined.

Event Details The Hackathon is sponsored by CYFS and CodeDAO and co-organized by Fog Works, Allinweb3, Eta Omega Chi, Metacubes, and Beta Fellowship. There will be an offline kick-off meeting at Plug and Play located at 440 North Wolfe Road, Sunnyvale on October 15, 2022. The kick-off meeting will describe what CYFS is and teach developers how to use CYFS and write applications that leverage CYFS. Then teams will have seven days to develop their projects, and judges will evaluate projects and announce winners during the following week.

The top three winners will share prizes and rewards worth over $26,000 and a chance to attract seed capital.

Hackathon judges include: Zhicong Liu, Chief Architect of CYFS, Bucky Cloud Founder, and Chief Engineer at Xunlei Co; Zainan Victor Zhou, Lead Author of Ethereum ERC1202 Voting Standard, Co-founder of AlephCrypto.xyz; David Tse, Stanford University School of Engineering Thomas Kailath and Guanghan Xu Professor; and David Roebuck, principal at cFund, Wave Financial Group, and Wavemaker Genesis.

CYFS is the first decentralized protocol to support the development of fully decentralized applications (dApps). Fully decentralized means there are no central nodes in any part of the dApp. Users can own not only their digital assets (tokens, NFTs) but also the dApps themselves and the data generated by their dApps, completely breaking the Web2 giants oligopoly on the Internet. CYFS could be used to fully decentralize current Web2 killer applications like Twitter, Facebook, Github, etc.

CYFS 'next-generation' Web3 dApps are quite different from the current Web3 apps, which are all essentially Web2 + blockchain apps. These Web2 + blockchain apps have limited functionality because of the inherent limitations of blockchain technology. Developing on CodeDAO The other primary sponsor of the hackathon is CodeDAO. CodeDAO is the first and only fully decentralized code hosting platform in the world. It is built entirely on CYFS. Teams will use CodeDAO to do code hosting and git version control in the Hackathon. CodeDAO itself is an example of a fully decentralized Web3 dApp. There are no centralized servers to store project data and handle user requests.
