LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) July 07, 2021 - Blake Johnson, serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Byte, announced today that he has made a $10,000 donation to the Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA). The gift will go toward helping under-served youth achieve their full potential through dedicated after-school programs.
The funds will go directly to provide daily programs for elementary, middle school, high school, and college-going students as HOLA begins the transition from entirely virtual services back to including in-person offerings.
'This is a critical time in the recovery of HOLA's community, which has been among the hardest hit by the pandemic, said Tony Brown, Executive Director of HOLA. As we prepare our students for an in-person return, we are so grateful for Blake's support. Blake's gift will help ensure that we can continue to provide essential resources and programming for our students and their families at this crucial moment.'
Johnson, who recently sold Byte for $1.04 billion, has a long history of entrepreneurial success. Both Currency Capital and IM Capital Access companies in which he was the chairman and founder were previously named on the Los Angeles Business Journals Best Places to Work, and several of his ventures have landed him on the Inc. 500 and Inc. 5000 lists of fastest-growing privately held companies.
Outside of his entrepreneurial ventures, Johnson is also an active philanthropist, focusing primarily on youth-based and entrepreneurial-focused nonprofit organizations. Hes a significant benefactor of organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Boy Scouts of America, the International Justice Mission, NFTE, and MOCA Los Angeles. To date, Johnson has donated a total of $600,000 to various charitable organizations.
Johnson, who grew up on a cattle ranch in southern California, understands how access to opportunities breeds success and hes excited to support HOLA in giving underserved children an equal chance to succeed.
HOLA's enrichment programs expose students to engaging and innovative opportunities that foster academics, arts, athletics, and wellness, said Johnson. These opportunities are deserved by our community and I couldn't be happier to support them.'
