PHOENIX (PRWEB) August 16, 2022 - A Social Equity Scholarship program was recently announced on behalf of the Arizona Dispensaries Association (ADA), with a goal to provide extra support and guidance to social equity license holders. Scholarship recipients will work one-on-one with ADA board members who are dedicating time and guidance to new industry members to help them achieve long-term success.
The ADA is offering expertise and support from qualified members in operations, marketing and relationship management with the Department of Health, Department of Agriculture, Department of Revenue and others as the 26 new social equity cannabis business license holders continue to navigate their business ventures within the cannabis industry.
Social Equity license holders with 51% ownership and with active operations of the business are eligible to apply, said Ann Torrez, executive director of the ADA. Without leadership and guidance, awardees may not have enough support to succeed. Arizona Dispensaries Association would like to give that support to those who need it most.
The program offers two types of scholarships: the first offers 100% scholarships for full ADA membership, which normally costs $12,500 per year. The second provides a 100% scholarship for social equity brands to join the ADA, which normally costs $1,000. During the first year of membership, scholarship awardees will be given monthly complimentary consulting with the ADA executive director, the membership and programs director, and another active or prior board member. Additionally, recipients will also be given visibility and acknowledgment in press releases and marketing opportunities.
Both scholarships are valid for one year following application approval. Discounted rates are also available for membership after the first year.
We have already had multiple members volunteer to contribute their time and services to those who will be awarded a scholarship, said Christie Lee, membership and programming director. Were excited to offer this first-time program and gain insight into what these license holders may need to maximize the success of their business.
